Seven Ways To Profit From Co-branded or Rebranded Software Products
We do offer co-branded and re-branded versions of some of our freeware products. Some times we get questions from site visitors about what they can do (other than directly selling) with these products. Here are some ideas...
- Download Sites - Create fully re-branded versions of a software with some new features that will be useful to your customers. Submit it to software listing sites like download.com, tucows.com, snapfiles.com, etc.
- Purchase Bonus - Offer the software as a bonus with your existing product. Bonuses often increase the sales because customers do like getting good offers.
- Lead Generator - Provide a free copy of the software as a sign-up bonus for your mailing list subscribers. You will get many more subscribers this way. Make sure that your mailing list offers a good value. Otherwise people will start using a throw-away email address.
- Link-bait - Make a good website around the software. Add additional information, articles and tips and create a useful website. People will often link to good resources. You will get extra inbound links and good search engine placements.
- Software CD - Create a CD containing the software and offer it along with any direct mail offers you may have.
- Barter - Offer the software to people in return for some thing else - a link to your web page, a review about your paid product or service. Be careful with this. Do this only if you have a good product and are confident that you will get good and honest reviews.
- Increase Customer Loyalty and Repeat Sales - Give it to your existing customers as an unannounced special thank you bonus.
